Bank Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner

gtd healthcare is one of the largest, not-for-profit, NHS commissioned primary and urgent care providers in North West England.

We are looking for experienced Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP's) to come onboard and join our clinical team on a bank basis.

Within our extensive footprint of urgent and primary care, we provide specific paediatric services including primary care clinics, out of hours clinics directly from 111 calls and also a winter resilience respiratory hub.

Main duties of the job

As a Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you will work within our paediatric services. You will work within your professional boundaries and assess ,diagnose and prescribe where appropriate. In addition, you will provide advice, careand management for urgent and/ or primary care patients either via telephone/video or face to face.

The clinician will act as apositive role model supporting junior staff whist working flexibly between urgent care and primary care, where appropriate, to provide safe, clinical andexpert care. The clinician working in this role will demonstrate clinical reasoning, critical thinking and will be key to supporting clinical work acrossthe wider healthcare team to meet the needs of patients.

The post holder will hold an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or Credentialing qualification (or equivalent) and a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification. You will be able to work within the four pillars of practice.

Job responsibilities

Clinical Practice

  • Assess and holistically clinically examine patients with both minor and complex needs through history taking, physical examination and appropriate use of investigations to confirm diagnosis.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate an effective management plan for the patient, ensuring safe discharge/referral and/or transfer to an appropriate health care service.
  • Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side-effects and interactions.
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
