About this job

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit two Band 3 Paediatric Therapy assistants, to join our friendly and dynamic Children's therapy team working across Salford.

The team includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Assistants and Administration staff and provide services to children from 0-19 with a variety of short- and long-term conditions which impact their mobility and independence.

One post is full time (
37.5 hours) and one part time (30 hours) with the hours to be worked between 8:30 and 5:30 Monday to Friday.

The postswill work in schools, nurseries, patients homes and clinics across Salford.

The post holder will be expected to be flexible within their working week to accommodate slightly earlier or later visits to meet the needs of the families we are working with.

Introduction of these posts means we can increase the team’s ability to provide hands on therapy to those children who require it, in addition to expanding our support, training and resources to families and professionals across Salford.

These are varied posts and involve a mixture of administrative, non-clinical and clinical duties.

Non-clinical duties include preparation and support of delegated clinics or care pathways; advice and guidance to parents and professionals on access to training and resources and reviewing progress; management of therapy resources and supporting audit and service development.

It will also include supporting with infection control and maintenance of clinical resources and areas.

Clinical duties include working in various settings with children as part of the multi-disciplinary team alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

This includes supervising therapy programmes at a group or individual level, assisting with functional activities e.g. dressing and assisting with mobility practice, supporting patients with the use of specialist equipment as well as completing administrative duties Additional in-house training will be provided to support development of skills to enable the post holders to complete the more specialist parts of these roles.

There are also monthly assistant meetings to promote learning and peer support.

We are looking for people with experience of working with children and supporting their development, alongside other professionals and ideally has experience of working with therapists.

It is essential that you are computer literate, a car owner and driver and are flexible, keen to develop and enjoy team working.
