Abraham Moss Community School is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school located in the heart of Manchester, committed to providing high-quality education and support to all our students. We are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant, Individual Healthcare Plans Lead (Level
3) to work alongside the SENCO and Inclusion Lead on the administration and coordination of all Individual Healthcare Plans across the Secondary Phase and lead, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of Individual Healthcare Plans (IHCPs) for pupils with medical needs. The Lead TA will ensure high-quality, safe, and legally compliant care across the school by working closely with pupils, parents, healthcare professionals, and staff.
The postholder acts as the central point of contact for all medical-related queries and ensures that the school fulfils its duty of care through effective planning, communication, and health practice.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people s learning and wellbeing. As a Teaching Assistant with responsibility for leading Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs), you will work closely with staff, students, and families to ensure that healthcare needs are effectively managed within the school environment.
Skills and Qualifications- Relevant medical/healthcare training or willingness to complete training (e.g., medication administration, enteral feeding)
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Health & Social Care
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues
- Additional specialist medical training relevant to school settings
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail when managing healthcare plans
- Basic understanding of health conditions affecting children (training available)
- Ability to work as part of a team while also using your own initiative
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community
- Patience, empathy, and sensitivity towards individual student needs
- A proactive approach towards problem-solving
- Reliability and professionalism at all times
- Enthusiasm for contributing positively to student welfare beyond academic support
