Overview
Salford Royal Gastro‑Intestinal Physiology Department based at The Willows Centre for Health in the community are looking to employ an individual who is either fully qualified in GI Physiology with appropriate registrations, or has an appropriate science degree (nursing is accepted) which would facilitate the Accredited Scientist Pathway training programme (BSc minimum qualification). The successful applicant will be competent (or to be trained) in a range of GI Physiology including upper and lower GI physiology.
ResponsibilitiesYou will undertake oesophageal manometry, 24‑hour impedance monitoring, and anorectal physiology investigations in the first instance. You will analyse and report findings with technical and clinical reports. Additional investigations and treatments such as biofeedback and capsule enteroscopy are not essential in the first instance but offer scope to expand knowledge and skills. The department performs work in a busy physiology setting, receiving referrals from across the North West and from our trust.
You will work as part of a team of three full‑time physiologists, with a need for teamwork and motivation.
We are looking for either a trainee (annex 21) Clinical Physiologist or a qualified Clinical Physiologist in GI Physiology. The role may involve Accredited Scientist Pathway (ASP) training in conjunction with the National School of Healthcare Science and Newcastle University. Ideally you will be an AGIP accredited practitioner and/or AHCS registered, though this is not essential as it can be worked towards.
