Community Phlebotomist

Overview

We are Trafford Local Care Organisation – an exciting, new public sector organisation bringing together NHS community health services and adult social care services in Trafford. We’re driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Trafford by working across organisational boundaries.

Our community healthcare teams in adults and children’s services are employed by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and deployed to us, linking closely with our colleagues in the Manchester Local Care Organisation. Our teams work as one and together we will make a massive difference to the health of people in Trafford.

• Carry out venipuncture in patients’ homes, care/nursing homes, and in clinics across the Trafford and Manchester footprint.
• Respond to phlebotomy requests for patients in the primary care setting.
• Provide health‑care checks such as blood‑pressure monitoring, height and weight checks.
• Work independently with minimal clinical supervision after completing an approved training course.
• Operate a full UK driving licence, driving a vehicle insured for business use, to travel between sites.

• Caring, courteous and able to work under pressure in a challenging environment.
• Full UK driving licence and a vehicle insured for business use.
• Flexible individuals capable of travelling to multiple sites.
• Phlebotomy experience is not essential – full training will be provided.
