We have an amazing opportunity to become a Personal Assistant to a university student studying Geography at the University of Manchester.
Start Date:
ASAP (training done beforehand).
Location:
University of Manchester (M13).
Shift Pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off (live‑in).
Essential:
Hold a clean UK driving licence.
Rate of Pay & Benefits: Pay: £200 per shift worked;
Holidays: 5.6 weeks (pro‑rata).
On‑call support from client coordinator; bespoke training in the client's particular requirements will be provided.
About Our ClientOur client is a Geography student at the University of Manchester in September. He has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and will need help with personal care, daily routines, transferring with a hoist and navigating university life. He is a music and football lover – we are looking for someone who shares similar interests and enjoys attending gigs, concerts and football matches.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference to somebody else's life, assisting our client in achieving his goals and aspirations. You will help with day‑to‑day living and general university support, treating the role as far more than personal care work – it includes all the fun things you would expect a university student to be doing, like going out, seeing friends, day trips or holidays.
ResponsibilitiesYou will assist our client with personal care, socialising, general tasks, study support, and navigating campus life, encouraging independence.
Qualifications & Requirements- Hold a clean UK driving licence.
- Physically fit, calm, patient, friendly, and caring.
- Good organisational skills and ability to work on your own initiative.
- Good sense of humour.
- Mature and responsible attitude.
- Good communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Clean and tidy appearance and manner.
Care experience is not required – training will be provided.
