An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 role within the Resuscitation and Simulation Department. This is a cross‑site post, working across multiple acute hospital sites and satellite units as part of the wider team working across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full‑time post.

The role will provide an opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic healthcare professionals with an interest in resuscitation to gain valuable experience working across a wide variety of services and alongside staff from all disciplines.

You will be working alongside Resuscitation Practitioners and members of the support team – technicians and course coordinators – supporting the Resuscitation Service Team Lead to provide a comprehensive and cohesive resuscitation service for the Trust.

As a member of the team, you will provide resuscitation training to all grades of staff and professions, from basic to advanced life support as qualified and required. As a professional role model you will provide direct and indirect clinical care, ensuring the needs of the patient are central to service delivery. You will monitor and improve standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence‑based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues, and the provision of skilled professional leadership.

You will actively contribute to the clinical effectiveness processes within the service.

We are looking for a Band 6 Adult Resuscitation Practitioner who is enthusiastic, highly motivated, confident, flexible and demonstrates excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

You will work with other members of the Resuscitation and Simulation Department to support the wider resuscitation team and the range of services it provides across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the collection and collation of data for national and local audits, and presenting this information as required at appropriate forums.
  • Participating in the cardiac arrest/emergency team response when available, providing clinical expertise, support and acting as an expert resource.

There will also be opportunities to develop personally and professionally within the team. You will be supported to develop as an instructor with a variety of learning opportunities in resuscitation practice and education.
