Working hours: 35 hours per week, including occasional evening or weekend work.
Contract type: Permanent.

The Civic and Ceremonial Team manages all aspects of protocol and procedure and provides direct support to the Lord Mayor, the first citizen of the City of Manchester. This includes oversight and delivery of major civic and special events that enhance the council’s public image and demonstrate civic leadership.
Responsibilities- Organise a wide range of civic and ceremonial events of varying scale.
- Develop and deliver appropriate events for the Lord Mayor that enhance the public image of the council.
- Provide support to the Lord Mayor, including diary management and administrative assistance.
- Proven experience in event management or a similar role.
- Highly motivated with excellent customer‑care skills and a drive to exceed expectations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to think creatively and solve problems.
- Exceptional organisational and time‑management skills, capable of working well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
