Our Finance team plays a pivotal role in enabling our growth, strengthening our financial controls, and enhancing the quality of our reporting. As we scale, we’re transforming the way we work through smarter processes, improved systems, and a collaborative, knowledge‐sharing culture.
We’re looking for a
** Financial Accountant
** to support our Financial Control function and contribute to the ongoing development of our accounting processes. Working closely with colleagues across Finance, you’ll help maintain high‐quality financial records, support month‐end and year‐end activities, and play a key role in driving continuous improvement.
We’ll need you to:
* ** Purchase Order Accruals & Consumption Accounting:
** Manage the end‐to‐end PO accruals process, gather and validate consumption data, calculate accruals in line with contracts, ensure month‐end deadlines are met, and drive process improvements and automation.
* ** Month-End Accounting:
** Prepare and post month‐end and ad‐hoc journals, ensuring accuracy, documentation quality and timely close.
* ** Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
** Produce reconciliations, investigate variances, and maintain strong balance sheet controls.
* ** Prepayments & General Ledger Oversight:
** Identify and process prepayments, ensure accurate P&L release, and review GL coding for accuracy.
* ** Fixed Asset Accounting:
** Support tangible and intangible asset accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation, asset register maintenance and lease accounting.
* ** Long-Term Contract Accounting (IFRS 15):
** Assist with data analysis, documentation and continuous improvement of IFRS 15 processes and controls.
* ** Year-End, Audit & Statutory Support:
** Prepare audit schedules, support internal/external audits, and ensure adherence to accounting policies and standards.
* ** ERP & Process Improvements:
** Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, ERP enhancements, process optimisation, control improvements, and ad‐hoc reporting.
* ** Tax Support:
** Provide assistance with VAT and corporation tax activities as the tax function grows.
* This is a key role in a growing team, and you’ll bring a collaborative mindset, analytical strength, and a passion for enhancing financial processes, alongside:
** Essential Skills / Qualifications
*** A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or equivalent professional expertise
* A proactive approach to problem‐solving and continuous improvement
* Strong technical accounting understanding, with the ability to work across complex areas such as accruals, reconciliations, and asset accounting
* We’ll ask about your experience navigating month‐end processes and maintaining high‐quality financial controls
