Our

Winning Team

Our purpose is to empower better lives through football. We are proud of the role City Football Group clubs play in their localities, delivering positive economic, social and environmental impact through our operations and through programmes and activities that bring about meaningful, lasting change.

At City Football Group we are looking for a Head of Finance
- Capital Projects to join us in our Manchester office.

The role

We have a new exciting opportunity for a Head of Finance-Capital Projects to play a pivotal role in supporting the financial delivery of major capital investments as part of an exciting period of expansion across the organisation. This role will provide strategic financial leadership across a portfolio of significant projects, ensuring strong governance, robust planning, and clear commercial insight as we continue to develop world‑class infrastructure and facilities across our sporting and entertainment venues.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and Corporate Services, you will lead financial planning, forecasting, investment analysis and reporting for capital projects, ensuring strong financial controls and effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle. You will bring proven experience supporting large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within the sports, entertainment, or spectator venue industry, with a strong understanding of complex builds, capital investment planning, and contractor engagement.

Your ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insight will support confident decision‑making and ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in line with the Group’s long‑term ambitions.

Created as part of a strategic re‑organisation of the Finance team during a period of growth, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the financial management of key investments within one of the world’s most innovative and ambitious sports organisations. Whilst combining strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership, you will be a proven leader.

What we are looking for
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent Finance‑related qualification).
  • Experience operating in fast‑paced environments, such as consulting, elite sports, or performing arts industries.
  • Proven experience leading and presenting on investment analysis including the financial evaluation of large‑scale capital or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capability, with a track record of leading and developing teams while building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive and collaborative leader, able to drive change, prioritise effectively, and deliver high‑quality outputs in a evolving environment.
