Management Accountant

Location: Failsworth

The Opportunity
An established and fast-growing business within the plant and equipment hire sector is looking to appoint a proactive and commercially minded Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Oldham.
This is a hands-on and varied role offering exposure across the full finance function. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting operational performance, and driving continuous improvement across the accounts process.
This opportunity would suit a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic, operational environment and wants to take ownership within a growing organisation.

The Role
Working closely with senior finance colleagues, responsibilities will include:
 
* Management and oversight of fixed assets
 
* Monitoring and analysing Hire Division performance
 
* Foreign currency management and reporting
 
* Debtors and creditors analysis
 
* Stock oversight and reconciliation
 
* P&L and margin analysis
 
* Bank reconciliations
 
* VAT reporting and compliance
 
* Month-end close processes
 
* Audit support and preparation of statutory accounts
This is a broad role requiring strong technical ability alongside commercial awareness and the confidence to work independently.
About You
 
* Previous experience in a similar finance role
 
* Part-qualified/ finalist or qualified ACCA/CIMA (active studier)
 
* Advanced Excel skills (essential)
 
* Strong analytical and numerical skills
 
* Excellent attention to detail
 
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
 
* Commercially aware and proactive
 
* SAP experience desirable but not essential
