Location: Salford Quays - Hybrid Working

Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional to develop their analytical and reporting skills while supporting key financial processes. You will play a vital part in helping the business make informed decisions by providing accurate financial information and assisting in management reporting.

What are the key responsibilities for the role?

  • Work with account teams to ensure clients are invoiced correctly, and monies are received in a timely manner.
  • Process supplier invoices end-to-end and prepare payment runs for approval.
  • Support the team with cash flow forecasting and monitoring including daily reconciliations to ensure up to date information.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts , including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
  • Assist in audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance financial reporting accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards .
  • Support daily finance operations, including data entry and record keeping

Required Skills

  • Foundation Basic knowledge of a finance function and how this operates within a business.
  • Proficiency in google sheets and microsoft excel

    Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, Quick Books, or ERP systems).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and meet tight deadlines.

    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a finance assistant role (internship or 1–2 years’ experience).
  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools or business intelligence systems.
  • Interest in process automation and continuous improvement.
