Overview Of Role
You would be joining the Rothschild & Co Global Advisory M A team as an Associate in our Manchester, UK office. The Manchester team provide impartial, expert advice to large and mid-sized corporations, private equity, families and entrepreneurs. The team design and execute strategic M A and financing solutions for our clients and act as a trusted partner, taking a long-term and independent view on the challenges they face.

Responsibilities- Work on multiple transactions and with multiple project teams simultaneously on all critical aspects of transactions, ranging from business development and initial opportunity evaluation to transaction strategy and execution
- Lead junior teams, including analysts, in the preparation of financial and economic analyses and computer models required for evaluating and completing such transactions, as well as the drafting of client presentations, information memoranda and offering documents
- Researching relevant industries to support the wider team’s marketing initiatives, optimising various sources of information and maintaining and updating industry databases and credentials
- Use a range of valuation techniques to support in the preparation and delivery of client advice including discounted cash flows, trading comps analysis, transaction comps analysis, and LBO-based valuations
- Interact with, influence and advise multiple stakeholders – across internal colleagues (both more senior and junior), external clients, potential investors and other advisers.
- A level or equivalent: ABB or above
- Degree or equivalent: 2:1 or above
- Sufficient prior experience in M&A-centric role at another Investment Bank, boutique or accountancy firm
- ACA (or equivalent) qualified with first time passes (distinct advantage, not essential).
- Previous experience gained in a similar role in another financial services organisation
- Ability to simultaneously manage several projects in an extremely fast paced environment in order to meet critical deadlines
- Proven quantitative and analytical skills to develop financial models and valuation approaches with a deep understanding of financial statement analysis
- Knowledge of the relevant financial and regulatory environments that surround M&A
- Ability to provide direction and leadership in order to build a strong team environment and to build effective relationships between individuals, teams and lines of business, across different geographies
- Experience participating in client presentations, managing projects and the execution of transactions
- Ability to communicate clearly as well as persuade and influence others
- Experience of overcoming setbacks in order to deliver results
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Aptitude for ongoing personal and professional development
