Your new roleAs a Project Controller, you’ll be a key financial partner to our project delivery teams, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate project accounting, and actionable insights that enhance project outcomes. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and collaborate with Senior Leaders, acting as a trusted advisor who brings clarity, control, and commercial acumen to every stage of the project lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Proactively manage the financial performance of your project portfolio, driving value through revenue recognition, risk management, working capital optimisation, and project monitoring.
- Champion financial governance by ensuring compliance with project accounting standards, internal controls, Ramboll’s policies and procedures, tax, statutory and audit requirements.
- Responsible for project set-up and ongoing maintenance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Ramboll’s financial processes and systems.
- Provide financial advice to stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities early and offering practical, data-driven solutions. This may include participation in tender reviews.
- Apply an innovative mindset to streamline and enhance financial operations.
- Support change initiatives with agility, helping teams adapt to evolving business priorities.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with Business Controllers, Project Managers, and senior leadership.
- Partner with our India-based support team to ensure timely and accurate project maintenance and billing.
You will be part of the Business Finance team working across the UK. We collaborate across offices and time zones in a hybrid environment to deliver excellence in financial project management.
About YouWe’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a growth mindset and a collaborative spirit. - 3+ years of related experience in Project Accounting for Professional Services organisations with advanced skills applying Project Accounting best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; recently or part qualified in relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACMA); equivalent experience considered in lieu of qualifications
- Proficient use of Cost Accounting Systems to run, monitor and bill projects, demonstrating advanced skills in applying Project Accounting best practices
- Proficient using Office 365, including strong Excel skills and good understanding of how to use Power BI or similar
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills
- Critical thinking, strong data-driven analytical skills and a high attention to detail
- Able to work with a minimum of supervision while coordinating with stakeholders
- Track record of involvement in initiatives that drive improvement in your domain
- Ability to lead meetings in virtual settings where most stakeholders and team members are in different locations
