We are currently retained by a highly acquisitive PE backed multi-site buy and build to support the accelerated growth of group function. With a significant volume of target acquisitions and a realistic runway to triple revenues within the next 18-24 months, we are looking for an experienced M&A Manager to join this high capability team.
Reporting to the CFO, the role will work closely with third party advisors, leadership and investors to ensure efficient M&A processes and develop internal capabilities, creating an end-to-end M&A function fit for the future. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong commercial judgment and an ability to identify and execute on new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator able to explain complex financial information clearly within a fast-paced SME environment.
The role is based in the Manchester area with a hybrid working pattern including requirements to travel to UK acquisition sites.
About the Role- Sourcing and qualifying acquisition targets
- Meeting owner–operators, building trust quickly, and positioning the group’s value proposition
- Assessing businesses at pace, analysing financials, operational performance, and strategic fit
- Supporting transactions end to end, including HOTs, negotiation, DD management, and timeline control
- Maintaining momentum across multiple simultaneous £1-5m EV acquisitions
- Working closely with CFO and CEO on pipeline strategy, deal structuring and commercial decision making
- 2+ years within M&A in Transaction services
- Chartered accountant (ACA)
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to identify attractive deals early
- Confident dealing directly with owner–founders and guiding them through the process
- Ability to analyse financial and operational data quickly and form clear recommendations
- Comfortable working at speed, managing multiple transactions, and travelling across the UK
- A preference for autonomy, accountability, and an environment that moves fast
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator able to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and investors.
- Collaborative and proactive, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels.

- Salary bracket £70-£85k pa (depending on experience)
