Interim Reporting Accountant / Finance ManagerDay Rate Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid – Manchester City Centre
3–6 month contract
We are currently supporting a prestigious organisation within the insurance sector who are seeking an experienced, qualified Reporting Accountant / Finance Manager to join their financeరుగ function on an interim basis.
The RoleYou will act as a senior member of the finance team, owning financial control across the insurance business and running core reporting processes end‑to‑end.
Key Responsibilities- Own the production of monthly management reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and working capital
- Lead the month‑end close process, including balance sheet ownership and reconciliation
- Own the insurance statutory reporting process, including interim and full‑year accounts for executive and stipend approval
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, leading the audit process end‑to‑end
- Produce insurance regulatory and external reporting, including periodic FCA returns
- Monitor and complejo financial control, cash flow ordinarily and balance sheet models
- Review key financial risks and controls, reporting against agreed risk appetite measures
- Work closely with Insurance leadership and cost‑centre managers to clearly communicate financial performance
- Proactively identify issues, resolve audit and reporting complexities, and reduce workload for senior stakeholders
This role will suit someone with:
- Fully qualified accountant status (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
- Strong financial and statutory reporting experience, ideally within insurance or regulated financial services
- Proven experience leading external audits, not just supporting them
- Excellent understanding of balance sheet control and financial governance
- Experience producing regulatory or statutory reporting in a controlled environment
- Confidence to work autonomously and take ownership in a fast‑paced setting
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to improve existing models and processes
- Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
Big 4 or Top 10 audit background is highly desirable, particularly with insurance clients.
Contract Details- Day rate contract
- Inside IR35
- 3–6 month initial term
- Hybrid working – Manchester City Centre
- Immediate or short‑notice availability preferred
