We're excited to be recruiting for a passionate and driven Charities Senior Finance Assistant to be an integral part of a high quality Financial Accounting Function. We need an individual with a passion for giving back, as you'll be responsible for supporting the day to day performance of the Financial Services Section, ensuring that levels of knowledge and expertise are maintained to the highest level.
Knowledge and understanding of NHS Finance is vitally important but not essential. Knowledge of Accounting Standards and experience of working in an NHS Finance Team would be advantageous but not essential.
You will have the opportunity to help the Trust across all of its sites and hospitals in the provision of care to those in Greater Manchester and beyond. To achieve this you will be required to travel and work at any of the sites as requested.
Main duties of the jobThe Charities Senior Finance Assistant is responsible for providing financial support to the Charities Finance Team. The post holder will contribute to the reporting of financial information and the general administration within the team. The post holder will also investigate financial and administrative enquiries providing advice and support to managers, fund advisors, donors and members of the public whilst complying with accounting and legal requirements.

- Understanding of the NHS and the Trust Financial Regime.
- Knowledge of Financial Systems.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and other guidance and legislation.
- Experience of working with a computerised accounting package.
- Knowledge of charity accounting and administration.
- Commitment to own personal development.
- Knowledge and experience of all applications found in "Microsoft Office."
- Experience of working within an NHS finance function.
- Working knowledge of Integra Ledger system.
- Knowledge of VAT relating to the Charity.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Ability to analyse, investigate and resolve queries and discrepancies.
- Positive, 'can do' attitude.
- 5 GCSE or equivalent including Maths and English.
- Studying for AAT or NVQ
4. - AAT qualified/studying a CCAB qualification/CIMA.
- ECDL or equivalent.
