Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer
Location:
Manchester
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a well-established environmental and ground engineering consultancy in Manchester.
This role offers the chance to work on a wide range of brownfield redevelopment, infrastructure, and property projects across the North West, while also helping to lead and develop the Manchester office.
The Role
As a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering contaminated land and ground investigation projects from initial site assessment through to remediation and validation. In addition to project delivery, you will be helping to lead the office, mentor junior staff, and support business growth in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Managing and delivering geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects
Overseeing Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Site Investigations
Interpreting site investigation data and preparing technical reports
Undertaking and reviewing quantitative risk assessments (human health, groundwater and gas)
Developing remediation strategies and verification reports
Supervising site investigations and subcontractors where required
Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior engineers
Assisting with the leadership and growth of the Manchester office
Maintaining strong client relationships and assisting with project delivery Requirements
Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
Experience working within a geoenvironmental or contaminated land consultancy
Strong report writing and project management skills
Experience with site investigations, risk assessments and remediation strategies
Good understanding of UK contaminated land guidance and legislation
Experience in mentoring or leading teams, ideally office-level responsibility
