Our client is a rapidly growing lithium-ion battery lifecycle and recycling specialist, helping accelerate the circular economy for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage batteries. They work with high-voltage battery systems from EVs and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), providing services including diagnostics, repair, safe handling, repurposing, and end-of-life processing.
The RoleThis is a hands‑on engineering role working with high-voltage lithium‑ion battery systems (400V-1000V+ DC) across EV and BESS applications. You will play a key role in diagnosing, repairing, safely isolating, and dismantling HV battery systems, while supporting site operations, safety compliance, and technical reporting. The role involves working in live operational environments, so strong HV safety awareness and RAMS experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities ⚡ High Voltage Battery Engineering- Diagnose and repair EV and BESS lithium‑ion battery packs
- Perform HV isolation and discharge procedures
- Troubleshoot faults at cell, module, pack, and BMS level
- Attend customer and operational sites for battery inspection, remediation, and decommissioning
- Support commissioning, controlled shutdown, and dismantling of BESS installations
- Act as HV technical lead on‑site
- Develop and implement RAMS for HV battery work
- Ensure compliance with HV regulations and safety standards
- Deliver toolbox talks and enforce safe working practices
- Produce battery condition reports and repair documentation
- Maintain accurate records for EV and BESS assets
- 3+ years' experience working with HV lithium‑ion battery systems
- Hands‑on experience with EV battery packs and/or BESS systems
- Strong understanding of battery architecture (cell / module / pack)
- Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Knowledge of HV isolation, testing, and fault finding
- Experience working under HV safety rules and permit‑to‑work systems
- Ability to write and implement RAMS
- Experience working with large-scale BESS installations
- HV Authorised Person (AP) certification
- Experience in battery recycling or end‑of‑life processing
