You will support the development and modification of pressure‑containing products, contribute to engineering analysis, and work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and high‑quality designs.
Experience with valves or similar components is beneficial, as is exposure to regulatory requirements, certifications, and technical file creation. This role is hybrid, with four days per week on‑site in Manchester to maintain close connection with the team and facility activities.
This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Deliver product modifications and new design work by applying sound engineering principles, calculations, and simulation tools such as FEA or CFD.
- Support certification and regulatory activities, contributing to complete technical files, engineering documentation, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Participate in cost‑reduction and value‑engineering initiatives focused on improving manufacturability, reducing material use, and enhancing product performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, operations, and commercial teams to ensure designs are effectively transferred to production and aligned with customer and safety requirements.
- Support operations by clarifying design intent, updating documentation, and working with various departments to resolve production inquiries.
- Use ERP systems to manage Bills of Materials, engineering changes, workflows, and documentation updates.
- Contribute to projects through all phases from concept to implementation, ensuring requirements, timelines, and deliverables are met.

ForThis Role, You Will Need:
- Experience as a design engineer or mechanical engineer, ideally within an engineering department where you have managed projects end‑to‑end.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and apply core mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience with or interest in simulation tools such as FEA.
- Exposure to valves, pressure‑containing components, or mechanical assemblies (beneficial but not required).
- Familiarity with certification frameworks, regulatory processes, or technical documentation.
- Strong ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts in a fast‑moving technical environment.
- Experience collaborating with factory or manufacturing teams and understanding how design decisions affect production, quality, and cost.
- Comfort working with ERP systems and supporting cross‑functional engineering and operations needs.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and clear communication.
