The Role You'll play a key role in delivering civil infrastructure design across a varied portfolio of developments including residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use schemes. The position is heavily civils-focused and will involve:
Detailed design of drainage systems (SuDS, Section 104, 106, 185) Highway design (Section 38, Section 278 agreements) External levels strategy and earthworks design Flood risk assessments and drainage strategies Liaison with local authorities, water authorities and statutory bodies Technical approval processes and detailed design packages Mentoring junior engineers and technicians Attending design meetings and supporting project delivery from concept through to construction You'll be trusted to manage your own projects while collaborating closely with structural and architectural teams.
What They're Looking For Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) Typically 5 years' experience in infrastructure design within a consultancy environment Strong working knowledge of UK design standards and approval processes
Experience with software such as Civil 3D, Micro Drainage/Info Drainage, AutoCAD Confident communicating with clients, contractors and approving authorities Ideally working towards Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE), though not essential Most importantly, they're looking for someone technically strong who enjoys solving infrastructure challenges and takes pride in producing robust, approval-ready designs.
