Copia Talent is recruiting for a detail oriented and commercially aware Estimator to join a growing organisation within the safety solutions sector, based in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator with exposure to construction or industrial projects who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on technically detailed, bespoke solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for safety solutions products and services, supporting both new business development and existing client projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Review technical documentation and interpret engineering drawings.
- Liaise with the sales and technical teams to clarify scope and project requirements.
- Conduct take-offs and quantify materials, labour, and associated project costs.
- Request and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Ensure all estimates align with relevant industry standards and company procedures.
- Support value engineering exercises to maintain competitiveness and protect margins.
- Maintain and update costing databases and pricing schedules.
- Assist in handover meetings to operations following successful tender awards.
- Attend site visits when required to support accurate pricing.
- Previous experience in an estimating role within construction, engineering, or industrial sectors.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Commercial awareness with a focus on maintaining and improving margins.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
- Experience with estimating software (desirable).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Methodical and detail-driven approach.
- Strong communicator with the ability to liaise confidently with internal teams and suppliers.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Able to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
