Looking to take real ownership of drainage design within a respected Manchester consultancy? This Drainage Engineer opportunity offers technical variety, progression and exposure to diverse North West projects.

A well-established civil and environmental consultancy is seeking a Drainage Engineer to strengthen its Manchester water services team. As a Drainage Engineer, you will support public and private sector schemes, delivering drainage and flood risk solutions from concept through to detailed design.

This Drainage Engineer role combines hands‑on SuDS and drainage design with planning input and stakeholder engagement.

• Deliver drainage designs and strategies from inception to detail
• Design SuDS, surface water and foul drainage systems
• Produce drawings using AutoCAD and related tools
• Support planning submissions and regulatory approvals
• Liaise with clients and multidisciplinary teams
• Share technical knowledge and support junior staff

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Science
• Minimum three years' drainage and flood risk experience
• Experience with SuDS and drainage strategies
• Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS exposure beneficial
• Strong communication and proactive approach

This Drainage Engineer position offers a salary of £37,000 - £45,000, structured development and long-term progression within a technically strong Manchester team.
