The Role
We have a brand-new opportunity for a Senior or Principal VT Services Engineer to join our Vertical Transportation team, preferably based from our Manchester office, but we would consider other locations in the North of England. This role will primarily support site-based activities (asset management, construction monitoring, witness testing, etc.) and will also involve project design and client-facing responsibilities.
We have a proven track record working within the Residential, Science & Research, Commercial, Retail, Transport and Further Education sectors with a varied portfolio of projects both in the UK and internationally. You will join a collaborative, knowledgeable, highly engaged team with a supportive, flexible, and high-performing work culture.
RoleWe work closely as a team to deliver a consistent high-quality service. In this key and varied role, you can expect to:
- Respond to clients’ needs
- Oversee site progress
- Testing and commissioning activities
- Survey and report on existing equipment
- Develop and produce reports, specifications and provide expert guidance
- Lead small projects and support larger projects with construction values that can exceed £200million (dependent on experience)
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
- Industry recognised qualifications, at least NVQ3 in lift engineering
- Practical knowledge of lifts, escalators and moving walks
- Good IT knowledge
- High level understanding of VT engineering and practical application of codes and standards
- Ability to lead projects; manage your own time and deadlines (dependent on level of experience)
- Appreciation of client needs and ability to communicate with architects, property developers, building managers and other team members
- Team player with a can-do attitude, willingness to help others and eager to learn
- Autonomous approach with minimal supervision (dependent on level of experience)
Previous consultancy or contracting experience in VT Design & Specification, Surveying & Reporting, Project Management, Commissioning and Validation, Facilities Management is not a prerequisite but would be an advantage.
