We’re now looking to expand our Highways team with the addition of a passionate and driven Assistant Highway Engineer.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding role within our Highways team. As Assistant Highway Engineer, you will support the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of highway maintenance projects across Salford. Working closely with engineers and senior officers, you’ll contribute to the planning and implementation of infrastructure schemes including road safety improvements, walking infrastructure, and minor highway works.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing technical drawings using AutoCAD and associated software.
- Assisting in the design of highway infrastructure schemes in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Supporting the delivery of public realm improvements, active travel initiatives, and maintenance projects.
- Contributing to site visits, surveys and data collection to inform scheme development.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
