Dalkia is looking to recruit a Mobile Environmental Technician to support our commercial and industrial contracts across the Manchester area. This role focuses on Legionella PPM, monitoring, and compliance works, ensuring our customers' water systems remain safe, compliant, and well maintained. You will work independently across multiple sites, delivering a high standard of service while representing Dalkia professionally with our clients.
Responsibilities- Carry out Legionella PPM and associated works in line with ACOP L8, BS 6700, and Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations
- Hot and cold water temperature monitoring
- Shower head cleaning and disinfection
- Calorifier temperature checks, base flushing, and internal inspections
- Water sampling
- Tank and down service disinfection and chlorination
- TMV testing
- Dead-leg removal
- Cold water tank replacement (non-plumbing), lining, and inspections
- Cooling tower cleaning and disinfection
- Completion of job sheets and reports using PDA systems
- Identify and carry out system improvements to ensure ACOP L8 compliance
- Participate in the on-call rota
- Support inspections of water storage tanks, boilers, and air conditioning systems where required
- Assist other trades when required
- Attend monthly team meetings
- Provide reports relating to work activity and equipment
- Proactively support contract growth into other service areas (Mechanical, Electrical, Projects, FM Services)
- Carry out any other reasonable duties within your competence
- Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and Dalkia policies
- Take reasonable care for your own safety and that of others
- Proven background in Legionella Control, with several years' experience in site monitoring and testing
- Strong understanding of legal and compliance requirements
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Confident using PDAs and IT systems
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload
- Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
- Strong communication skills, able to engage with clients at all levels
- Must live in the Manchester area or be willing to travel
- Water sampling and testing experience
- Knowledge of pool plant and equipment
- Legionella Awareness training
- General maintenance experience including fault diagnosis and rectification
