About the RoleThe Environmental Management and Assessment Team is growing and we are looking for an environmental professional to join our team with experience in environmental consultancy and environmental planning support across a range of sectors. The role will involve leading and contributing to environmental deliverables on projects in road, water, rail and housing sectors throughout the UK, including environmental impact assessments, statements and permits.
It will also include account and client management activities, business development, and marketing of our expanding service line.
- Leading and coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments
- Preparing Environmental Statements, Management Plans and Risk Assessments
- Leading technical work on assigned projects while ensuring safety, quality and environmental responsibility
- Managing and coordinating technical input from within Pell Frischmann and partner companies
- Ensuring deliverables meet client needs and are cost‑effective and of exemplary standard
- Engaging in business development, client and third‑party liaison to build reputation and secure new work
- Contributing to and preparing bids
- Line management and mentoring of team members
- Advocating the team’s services internally to framework managers and technical leaders
- Assisting with promotion of the company’s capabilities to current and prospective clients
- Maintaining a strong understanding of environmental regulations and ensuring projects meet national and local standards
- Environmental Science degree or similar
- Member of a relevant environmental professional body (e.g., ISEP or IES)
- Chartered Environmentalist or Chartered Scientist
- Considerable experience with private and public‑sector developers and operators on development/infrastructure project consents
- Sound knowledge of the UK planning system and consent processes, including assembling Environmental Statements and reviewing specialist inputs
- Practical experience of all stages of Environmental Impact Assessment
- Experience of renewable energy, water and wastewater schemes, and environmental permitting
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and organisational skills
- Team‑orientated, able to collaborate with other business and partner teams
- Full UK driver’s licence
- Excellent commercial understanding of environmental consultancy procurement
