Location: Manchester, Spinningfields office

Hybrid Working: 2 days in office per week

As a Lead Platform Engineer, you’ll shape the backbone of our engineering ecosystem; designing and evolving the platforms that power our products ’ll lead technical strategy, champion best practices, and enable teams to deliver faster, safer, and smarter. This is a hands‑on engineering & team lead role where you’ll influence architecture, mentor engineers, and drive innovation in cloud infrastructure, automation, and developer experience.

• Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of excellence.
• Champion best practices in database design, enable self‑serve tools for developers, and drive smart, scalable data decisions across the Group.
• Architect and implement scalable, secure platform solutions that empower product teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in automation, observability, and developer experience.
• Partner with Product, Security, and Engineering leaders to align platform strategy with business goals.

• Proven experience as a platform engineer in a cloud‑native environment, ideally leading platform or infrastructure engineering teams (at least in a Senior Engineer role).
• Deep expertise in AWS, infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform / CDK), and container orchestration.
• Strong understanding of database technologies (Mongo
  
  DB, relational DBs) and data modelling.
• Passion for automation, observability, and improving developer experience.
• Comfortable leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
• Excellent communicator who can influence technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
