Vertical Recruitment is working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior REVIT MEP Technician to join its Building Environments team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a close-knit, collaborative team working on a varied portfolio of projects across the UK and internationally. You’ll have the chance to contribute to unique, high-profile developments while helping to drive forward sustainable design solutions.
Current projects include:
A new 5,500-capacity stand is being delivered at a historic football ground, complete with hospitality, media, and player facilities, transforming one of the oldest stadiums in the world.
At the heart of a major university campus, a world-class library and teaching building is being created, setting a new benchmark for student learning and academic resources.
The first new build on a landmark city-centre site will provide 500,000ft² of high-quality commercial office space alongside community facilities, forming the cornerstone of a wider regeneration.
This role is ideal for an experienced MEP technician with 5 plus years’ experience who is looking to work on industry leading projects within a vibrant, multi-disciplinary consultancy. You will have the opportunity to further develop your career within a clearly defined Technician career path, supported by a collaborative and forward thinking team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about digital engineering and high quality design who wants to leave their mark on some of the most exciting projects in the UK and internationally. Current and recent projects include major education, mixed use and sports developments, alongside a strong portfolio of local and overseas work.
Your responsibilities will be varied and are likely to include:
Leading the BIM delivery of projects, including reviewing BIM scopes and documentation
Undertaking clash detection and hosting BIM coordination workshops
Producing detailed and fully coordinated MEP service models
Collaborating closely with the MEP design team to deliver quality BIM outputs to agreed deadlines
Advising on the planning and management of advanced Revit techniques
Carrying out quality control of BIM models, drawings and schedules
Reviewing BIM BEPs and EIRs to ensure project requirements are met
Engaging with the wider internal BIM community
Developing sketches and concepts into detailed drawings with a strong understanding of engineering principles
Providing training and technical support to the Manchester team
Managing your own workload and resources, and effectively communicating with the leadership team
As a Senior MEP Revit Technician, you should be able to demonstrate:
Strong experience using Autodesk software including Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud
Proven experience leading modelling, coordination and clash resolution of complex MEP BIM models through RIBA Stages 2 to 4
Confident and flexible communication skills with experience working alongside multiple disciplines
Experience managing your own workload across several projects and coordinating the work of other BIM technicians
A proactive approach to learning and ongoing technical development
Experience delivering training to technicians and engineers
A creative mindset that challenges conventional ways of working
An interest in digital design tools, scripting and workflow optimisation
Awareness or experience of automation tools
A good understanding of ISO 19650 standards
Ideally qualified to HNC, HND or BEng level in a relevant discipline
