Job Overview
Principal Verification Engineer (ISP, Display, Video) – Arm Systems Media IP team.
This role offers the opportunity to design and develop hardware verification test benches for future generation Image Signal Processors, Display Processors, and Video codecs. The successful candidate will improve existing test benches, identify improvement opportunities, and help advance our best practices in hardware verification.
Responsibilities- Verification ownership of unit‑level or multi‑unit hierarchies, or overall IP (ISP, Display, Video).
- Architect verification IP and full verification environments.
- Review and assess proposed design changes from a verification complexity perspective.
- Analyze simulation data using machine‑learning and data‑science techniques to drive efficient bug discovery and debugging.
- Identify cross‑media IP process or methodology improvement opportunities and implement changes to increase verification efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with other Arm engineering teams to deliver high‑quality IP that works well in a complete system.
- Mentor and support other members of the team.
- Experience in constrained‑random verification, owning a complex verification environment and creating reusable test benches.
- Proficient in SV‑UVM and scalable code development.
- Strong scripting skills to support new and existing verification flows.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals – object‑oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiar with tools and processes for developing test benches and completing the verification lifecycle.
- Prior technical leadership experience for senior roles.
- Team leadership and mentoring experience.
- Multiprocessing microarchitecture experience, including knowledge of bus protocols (AMBA APB/AHB/AXI).
- Formal verification testbench experience.
- Experience in video codec, ISP, or display projects and advanced image‑processing algorithms.
- Functional safety product development for automotive (ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
- Experience with continuous integration flows.
