RoleSummary
Your work will take place in our Manchester office as part of a growing team of structural engineers. You will be responsible for the design, review, and technical guidance of structural projects across the UK, working closely with clients, architects and external consultants.
MainDuties & Responsibilities
- Perform, check, and review relevant structural engineering design calculations to meet client specifications and applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Collate and manage project information, liaise with clients, architects and third parties, and produce detailed structural appraisal reports.
- Conduct visual surveys and site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Supervise and delegate workload to junior staff, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
- Check and approve work from other staff, including third‑party design proposals.
- Prepare and present technical reports, proposals and project documents.
- Assist Project Leads in managing project budgets, schedules and resources.
- Degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- Chartered status with ICE or IStruct
E preferred, not essential. - Considerable experience in building structure analysis and design, including reinforced concrete, steel framed, timber, masonry and modular buildings.
- Senior engineer level experience and mentoring of graduates and other engineers.
- Experience producing fee proposals and managing project budgets.
- Finite element software for structural engineering.
- Design software such as TEDDS and Concrete Centre spreadsheets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience with Tekla‑3D, SCIA, Robot, RAM, ETABS, AutoCAD/Revit.
