We are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant to support town planning and consenting for major and nationally significant infrastructure projects. You will work within multi‑disciplinary teams to secure consent and approvals via the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, the Planning Act 2008, the Transport and Works Act Order, and other relevant regimes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage or lead aspects of the town planning or consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (e.g., DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs).
- Provide technical advice to clients and manage their consenting requirements, demonstrating awareness of client expectations and needs.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of consent applications under the relevant planning acts.
- Support negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.
- Lead engagement with multidisciplinary teams, providing technical oversight.
- Actively support and contribute to achievement, building positive relationships within project and discipline teams.
- Proactively develop own knowledge and skills to build internal expertise.
- Apply solid understanding of project finances and project management experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Mentor colleagues by supporting them in project delivery roles.
- Hold a degree‑level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
- Be a member of the RTPI.
- Demonstrable experience securing consent for major or nationally significant infrastructure projects.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Degree level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
