Senior Structural Engineer – Manchester (Hybrid Working Available)

We’re working with a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer for their Manchester office. This role offers the chance to play a key part in the delivery of large-scale, technically complex structural projects across sectors such as defence, nuclear, public sector, highways, and industrial infrastructure.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality structural solutions, supporting junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project success. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who is looking to progress their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Deliver structural designs to cost, schedule, and quality requirements.

· Support project leaders and contribute to the management of structural design teams.

· Ensure compliance with design standards, CDM regulations, and HSE best practices.

· Coordinate with clients and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.

· Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers.

· Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in design and delivery processes.

About You:

· Chartered or near-chartered Civil/Structural Engineer (CEng MICE or MIStruct

E).

· Solid experience in structural design of building structures and foundations.

· Strong understanding of structural codes, standards, and design tools.

· Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

· Familiar with CDM regulations and health & safety responsibilities.

· Eligible for (or currently hold) SC security clearance.

· Full, clean UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience:

· Previous involvement in nuclear, defence, public sector, or complex infrastructure projects.

· Experience with seismic design, ground improvement techniques, or advanced structural analysis tools.

· Understanding of technical assurance processes and regulatory compliance.
