SEND Teaching Assistant - Autism Support

Aspire People are working in partnership with a highly supportive primary school in Salford who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism.

This is a long-term opportunity for a compassionate and patient individual who understands the importance of structure, routine, and consistent support in helping children thrive.

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with ASD
• Supporting communication and social interaction development
• Implementing sensory strategies and structured routines
• Assisting with personalised learning tasks aligned to EHCP targets
• Managing emotional regulation and behaviour positively
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents

• Recent experience supporting pupils with ASD in a school setting
• Understanding of sensory needs and structured support strategies
• Calm, nurturing and resilient approach
• Team-Teach training desirable (not essential)
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trust
