Speech & Language Teaching Assistant (SaLT TA) – SEN School, Swinton
- Full-time | Monday-Friday | 8:30am-3:30pm | £105 per day
- A specialist SEN school in Swinton is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Speech & Language Teaching Assistant (SaLT TA) to support non-verbal pupils and work closely with on-site Speech and Language Therapists.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within a structured and supportive SEN environment.
Role Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for non-verbal children
- Work alongside Speech & Language Therapists (SaLT) delivering targeted communication interventions
- Support pupils using PECS, Now & Next boards, visual timetables and AAC strategies
- Encourage development of verbal communication, interaction and engagement
- Support children with Autism (ASD) and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and therapy staff
- Promote a calm, structured and communication-focused learning environment
- Experience supporting children with SLCN, ASD or complex needs
- Knowledge or experience of PECS, Now & Next boards and visual communication systems
- Experience working with non-verbal pupils
- Calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary SEN team
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- £105 per day
- Full-time:
