Smile Education is recruiting a resilient and motivated Graduate Behaviour Mentor to support a welcoming and well‑established secondary school in Greater Manchester
. This long‑term, full‑time role is ideal for recent graduates who are interested in a future career in education, psychology, youth work, or pastoral support and are looking to gain hands‑on experience working with young people who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
As a Graduate Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning. This role is an excellent stepping stone into careers in teaching, educational psychology or pastoral leadership
.
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, or social needs
- Support students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs to remain engaged in learning
- Assist pupils in developing positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation skills
- Support classroom behaviour and de‑escalation strategies in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and engagement
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to promote trust and consistency
- Support intervention sessions, inclusion work, and pastoral initiatives
- Maintain a safe, calm, and supportive learning environment
- A degree in any subject
- A genuine interest in behaviour support, pastoral care, or youth work
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Resilience, patience, and a calm, professional approach
- The ability to support behaviour management and de‑escalation
- An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
