A specialist independent provider in Manchester is seeking a Primary Teacher for an immediate start. This permanent role offers a unique blend of three days classroom teaching within a small, well‑supported primary class, combined with two dedicated curriculum days, making it an excellent opportunity for a primary teacher looking to begin their journey toward a future senior leadership position.

The school delivers education and therapeutic support for children aged 5–16 with SEMH needs, autism, and associated communication or learning differences. Its approach is rooted in trauma‑informed practice, therapeutic principles, and a nurturing ethos that places each child’s wellbeing at the centre of learning.

The successful primary teacher will join a multidisciplinary team committed to helping pupils rebuild trust in education, develop confidence, and achieve positive academic and personal outcomes.

The Primary Teacher will design engaging, personalised lessons and play a key role in supporting pupils’ emotional and pastoral needs. They will contribute to a consistent, therapeutic learning environment where every child is supported to thrive.

• Planning and delivering differentiated lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
• Integrating therapeutic, sensory, and emotional development goals into teaching.
• Using a child‑centred, multi‑sensory approach to promote engagement and independence.
• Supporting both academic progress and the development of social and emotional skills.
• Setting appropriate and aspirational targets alongside the SENDCo and wider team.
• Using ongoing assessment and reflection to adapt provision.

• Working with therapists and wellbeing practitioners to embed therapeutic strategies into everyday routines.
• Supporting emotional literacy, regulation, and resilience using established trauma‑informed practices.
• Contributing to the wider pastoral culture and behaviour ethos of the school.

• Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents and carers.
• Contributing to EHCP reviews, progress reporting, and professional meetings.

• Engaging in CPD and supervision provided by the school.
• Contributing to school‑wide initiatives promoting inclusion and wellbeing.
• Maintaining accurate planning, assessment, and record‑keeping.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Primary‑aged pupils.
• Commitment to inclusive, differentiated, and child‑centred practice.
• Ability to work effectively in a therapeutic, multidisciplinary environment.
• Additional SEND qualifications or training.
• Experience with trauma‑informed teaching or sensory integration.
• Knowledge of ASC, ADHD, attachment needs, or social communication differences.
