Qualified Teaching Assistant - SEMH Primary Provision

About the Role

Aspire People is proud to be working in partnership with a high-quality primary Alternative Provision that is expanding and opening a new site. The school is now seeking a Qualified Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

This specialist primary setting supports children who have been excluded from mainstream education and pupils with SEMH and additional needs, offering small class sizes and a highly personalised approach.

• Supporting pupils in small primary class groups (maximum 6 pupils)
• Working closely with the class teacher/tutor to support learning and behaviour
• Providing academic, emotional, and pastoral support
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Delivering small-group and 1:1 interventions
• Contributing to individual support and behaviour plans

• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
• Have experience supporting children with SEMH or complex needs
• Be confident managing challenging behaviour
• Be adaptable, nurturing, and consistent in their approach
• Thrive in a structured, relationship-led environment

• Supportive and experienced leadership team
• Clear progression routes (HLTA, specialist roles)
• High-quality CPD and specialist training
• Strong focus on staff wellbeing and collaboration
