Aspire People is working in partnership with a highly inclusive primary school in Salford that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across KS1 and lower KS2.
The school has a strong SEND provision and is committed to providing structured, nurturing support tailored to individual learning plans.
The Role:- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD
- Implementing structured routines and visual timetables
- Supporting communication development and social interaction
- Assisting with sensory regulation strategies
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Recording progress and contributing to EHCP reviews
- Previous experience supporting children with ASD
- Understanding of sensory needs and communication strategies
- Calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Confident supporting emotional regulation
- Team-Teach training desirable (not essential)
