SEND Teaching Assistant - ASD Specialist; Primary

Aspire People is working in partnership with a highly inclusive primary school in Salford that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across KS1 and lower KS2.

The school has a strong SEND provision and is committed to providing structured, nurturing support tailored to individual learning plans.

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD
• Implementing structured routines and visual timetables
• Supporting communication development and social interaction
• Assisting with sensory regulation strategies
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Recording progress and contributing to EHCP reviews

• Previous experience supporting children with ASD
• Understanding of sensory needs and communication strategies
• Calm, patient, and consistent approach
• Confident supporting emotional regulation
• Team-Teach training desirable (not essential)
