Salary: £36,400 up to £53,040 PLUS TLR1

We are seeking an outstanding Science practitioner to lead our hardworking, forward‑thinking Science team. You will have full responsibility for departmental outcomes, drive curriculum excellence, and model high‑quality teaching across KS3 and KS4.

🔬 What You’ll Do
  • Lead and inspire the Science teaching team
  • Take accountability for exam outcomes and student progress
  • Write, monitor and refine schemes of work
  • Carry out quality assurance across teaching, assessment, and curriculum
  • Model exemplary classroom practice
  • Mentor ECTs and trainees
  • Use data effectively to plan interventions
  • Deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons aligned with Rosenshine’s Principles
  • Ensure all departmental policies are implemented consistently
  • Support literacy and oracy development
  • Contribute to extra‑curricular Science opportunities
👤 What We’re Looking For

You will be:

  • A qualified teacher with a degree in a Science discipline
  • An experienced Science teacher with strong pedagogical understanding
  • Skilled in motivating and engaging learners
  • Confident using assessment to drive progress
  • Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and high standards
  • A collaborative leader who supports and challenges colleagues
  • Reflective, ambitious, and ready to contribute to whole‑school improvement
