Purpose

We are seeking two dedicated Education Tutors to join our team of a full-time, Permanent basis. The Academy Education Tutor role is to lead the planning, delivery and administration of education programmes within the Professional Development Phase (U18–U23). The successful candidate will support players undertaking BTEC Level 3, A Levels, GCSEs and alternative or international qualifications, with specific responsibility for sport studies delivery and assessment.

The role also includes key administrative duties such as coordinating school reports, managing school release requests, supporting Elite Player Performance Plan requirements, and acting as programme lead for a designated year group. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the post holder will play a vital role in helping players achieve their academic targets, embodying the Academy values of Graft, Pride, Ambition and Respect .

Impact
  • Plan and deliver teaching programmes of study to U18 Scholars and EDS players (under the age of 18) based at the Academy in order that they all successfully complete the qualification.
  • Be central in the coordination of the hybrid training model (12-16) including liaising with schools, parents and key internal / external stakeholders to help facilitate the programme.
  • Provide support to U12s – U16s players on the day release (FTTM/HTM) programme through programme delivery, report gathering, and visits to local schools as directed.
  • Support and implement the tracking and monitoring of players on the Full Time, Hybrid and Part Time Training Models including gathering school reports and compile reports for players within the academy system (from 9- 16)
  • Assist with the tournament player release policy and process, co-ordinate and produce tournament booklets in line with the tournament schedule.
  • Be an active member of the operations and development department in the Academy, and support with the completion of departmental projects as and when required.
  • What we are looking for
    • Educated to degree level, the post holder may also have other relevant professional qualifications.
    • Demonstrable experience teaching and working with young people
    • Evidence of consistent/outstanding teaching grades as appropriate
    • Experience of working in a secondary school environment / the post 16 sector
    • Up to date knowledge of education in the sport sector
    • Knowledge and experience of delivering the Sporting Excellence Professional (SEP);
    • Knowledge of Achieving Sporting Excellence (ASE)
    • Evidence of teaching and assessment of the Level 2 and 3 BTEC Sport studies suite of qualifications
    • Knowledge of FE/HE education programmes.
    • A positive attitude to IT and a willingness to learn to use digital resources effectively.
    • Knowledge of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
    • Ability to interpret complex data and present it in a variety of formats.
    • Ability to present to large groups of people.
    • Ability to create high quality materials to use within the academy and to use resources and materials effectively
    • Excellent standards of literacy and numeracy
    • Evidence of commitment to Continuous Professional Development
    • Willingness to support and attend overseas events.
    • Flexible attitude to working hours and willingness to regularly work evenings and weekends as per the demands of the role.
    • Knowledge and evidence of teaching other education programmes (GCSE, AQA, QCF, RQF, NCF)
    • Experience of teaching and assessing functional skills in English and Maths.
    • Experience of working within a category one Football Club.
    • Experience of working within an elite sports environment.
    • Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP)
    • Experience of delivery and assessment of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
