This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people, particularly those facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to students with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or those at risk of exclusion.

  • Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust, confidence, and engagement.

  • Support students in managing emotions, improving behaviour, and developing coping strategies.

  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and safeguarding leads to monitor progress and implement support plans.

  • Promote attendance, punctuality, and positive attitudes toward learning.

  • Support reintegration of students returning from exclusion or alternative provision.

  • Act as a positive role model, encouraging personal development and resilience.

  • Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions and student progress.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEMH needs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations.

  • A proactive and solution-focused approach.

  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

  • Relevant qualifications in youth work, mentoring, education, or related fields - desirable but not essential.

What We Offer
  • Competitive daily rate of £106-£120, depending on experience.

  • Full-time, long-term opportunity with potential for permanent employment.

  • Supportive leadership and pastoral team.

  • Ongoing training and professional development.

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting difference in young people's lives.
