1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Support (Year
1)

Full-time | Monday-Friday | 8:30am-3:30pm |

Start date:

19th January

We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school who are looking for a kind, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a child with autism.
  • Support learning and emotional regulation in a calm breakout space.
  • Help the child develop confidence, communication and independence.
  • Use a calm, nurturing and flexible approach throughout the day.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and support staff.
  • Support additional pupils when required.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Has experience supporting children with autism or additional needs (school or care-based experience welcome).
  • Is patient, compassionate and resilient.
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with children.
  • Understands that progress looks different for every child.
  • Is happy working both 1:1 and in small group settings.
