September 2026 (Potential for Easter 2026 start date) We are currently unable to accept applications from ECTs Situated in Northenden, Manchester, Oakbrook School is eagerly looking forward to opening its doors in Easter 2026.We are proud to introduce ourselves as a new special school, part of The Wellbrook School in Derbyshire. Our provision is designed to support up to 20 young people aged 9 to 16 with Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of SEND (Science Specialist) to join our team. You will be instrumental in creating a positive learning environment and making a real difference in our pupils lives. Due to our small class sizes, you will have the chance to establish genuine connections with each student and offer tailored support. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of something special from the very beginning.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Strong subject knowledge in Science, with the ability to teach across key stages (KS1KS4).
Experience of planning, delivering, and assessing engaging science lessons that meet a range of learning needs. Understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and commitment to inclusive education. Ability to differentiate learning effectively and use creative approaches to engage pupils with varied abilities. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a safe, supportive learning environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
