Teaching Assistant – SEN / SEMH
Location: Greater Manchester
Start Date: After Feb half term - 23/02/2026

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across a range of Specialist schools, Alternative provisions and Pupil referral units
. These schools support pupils with additional needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and learning needs
.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary staff team
, alongside experienced teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff, behaviour mentors and support workers, all focused on creating a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
This opportunity is suitable for entry-level candidates seeking experience as well as experienced Teaching Assistants looking to progress within SEND education. Full support, guidance and access to training are provided. Looking to start after February half term, for long term and short-term roles.
About the Role- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support
- Assist pupils to engage with learning and classroom activities
- Support behaviour, emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams
- Promote a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment
- Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work or similar), or a strong desire to gain experience
- Calm, patient and professional approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
(Previous SEN/SEMH experience is desirable but not essential.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
