The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and inspirational Teacher of Science to join a successful Science team at Ashton on Mersey School. The trust’s vision is for all our pupils to believe in themselves, achieve their potential and succeed in their journey through life. The successful candidate will share this vision whilst driving forward continual school improvement at Ashton on Mersey School.

- Honours degree or equivalent, in a science-related subject (2:2 or above)
- Qualified teacher status
- Enthusiastic and outstanding classroom practitioner, to be able to teach Science up to GCSE standard
- Full working knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements for specified subject
- Be able to work as a member of a team
- Be committed to ensuring that every pupil is given the opportunity to achieve their potential and meet the high expectations set for them
- Take responsibility for personal and professional development and to keep up to date with research and development in both subjects and teaching methodology with a strong appreciation for the enthusiasm of how Technology can improve teaching and learning and contribute to a skill and capabilities-based curriculum
- To be able to assist in the planning and organisation of school trips/visits
- Ability to foster and maintain collaborative working relationships and the sharing of good practice
- Ability to manage time effectively and deal with conflicting priorities
- Develop and implement policies and practices which reflect the school’s commitment to high achievement
- To be able to communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and member of the community
- Good organisational skills
