Care Leaver's Programme

You will be an experienced Employment Coach/Advisor with mentor skills who can challenge Care Experienced Young people (CEYP) aged 18-30 to look at their approach to challenges and manage them in new ways. You would report to the Operations Manager and sit within an employability team delivering a targeted employability contract to NEET CEYP across Greater Manchester.

The role is outreach based and you will be a Career Mentor working within local communities to support NEET CEYP to progress into sustainable employment or education and training as well as deliver sessions and guidance about life skills.

We seek a diverse workforce and therefore are open to a range of backgrounds and experience however seek an individual who is proactive, organised and resilient to deal with the varying demands of the role.

Job Description

Main Duties:

We are looking for a dedicated professional to support Care Experienced Young People (CEYP) aged 18-30 into sustainable employment, training, or education. You will deliver high-quality, end-to-end employability support, helping participants build the confidence, skills, and resilience needed to thrive in the workplace.

Your role will involve engaging young people in employability programmes, carrying out assessments, creating action plans, and providing one-to-one and group coaching. You will support participants with CVs, applications, interview preparation, and job search activities, while promoting a strengths-based approach to career success.

Working closely with referral partners, local authorities, and employers, you will connect participants to meaningful opportunities, arrange interviews and work placements, and provide tailored in-work support to help them sustain their employment or apprenticeship.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL

  • Five GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above
  • Relevant professional qualification

DESIRABLE

  • Experience of delivering services in the Employability sector
  • IAG Level 3
  • Member of the IEP
  • ERS Level 3 Certificate or Diploma
  • Coaching qualification

* Some evening and weekend working may occasionally be required.
