KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Swinton | Full-time | Long-term | Start: ASAP | DBS on the Update Service required | Long term until end of academic year

The Role:
  • Supporting KS1 pupils with autism on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Assisting children with communication, emotional regulation and sensory needs
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to deliver personalised learning strategies
  • Supporting learning both within the classroom and in structured breakout or intervention spaces
  • Helping to implement EHCP targets and behaviour support plans
  • Creating a calm, safe and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate :
  • Experience working with children with autism and EHCPs (school, SEN or care settings)
  • A patient, empathetic and consistent approach
  • Confident supporting children with additional communication and sensory needs
  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine passion for inclusive and specialist education
