Job Opportunity: MFL Teacher (Modern Foreign Languages) at Emerald Teaching 🌟
Are you passionate about teaching languages and broadening students’ cultural understanding? Emerald Teaching is looking for a dedicated MFL Teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) to join our team and inspire students in schools across Manchester.
About the Role:As an MFL Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in one or more foreign languages (French, Spanish, German, etc.) to students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering MFL lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Creating engaging and interactive lessons to inspire students and develop their language skills.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress through assessments, homework, and verbal feedback.
- Promoting the cultural understanding and appreciation of the countries where the languages are spoken.
- Differentiating lessons to cater to a wide range of abilities, ensuring all students can access and engage with the material.
- Managing classroom behavior and creating a positive, inclusive environment for language learning.
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure cohesive curriculum delivery and sharing best practices in language teaching.
- Supporting extracurricular activities
, such as language clubs, cultural trips, or language exchange programs.
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a relevant field.
- Strong subject knowledge in at least one foreign language (French, Spanish, German, etc.).
- Experience teaching MFL at secondary school level (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
, with the ability to engage and motivate students. - A commitment to cultural enrichment and encouraging students to develop global perspectives.
- Ability to differentiate lessons for various learning abilities and styles.
- Enhanced DBS check (on the update service or willingness to undergo one).
