Alternative Education Provision Officer

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Salford’s Education Inclusion team to support the Alternative Education Provision (AP) service, ensuring that provision for pupils who are disengaging from mainstream curriculum and/or who would benefit from an alternative programme of education have the opportunity to improve their academic and social/emotional outcomes.

The role is one dedicated to supporting children in accessing the education to which they are entitled.

• Support the Alternative Education Provision service for disengaging pupils and those needing alternative programmes.
• Work alongside the AP Manager and other Education Inclusion Officers to develop this strand of the service.
• Ensure children’s educational entitlement is met, maintain records, monitoring and reporting on alternative provision.
• Maintain effective professional relationships at all levels and manage complex meetings.
• Secure the best outcomes for children on alternative provision and collaborate with different agencies.

• Experience working with children and families in an education setting.
• Highly organised, self‑motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and able to meet deadlines.
• Thorough knowledge and experience of alternative provision legislation and the local authority’s statutory responsibilities.
• Problem‑solving skills and experience in securing best outcomes for children on alternative provision.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work with different agencies.

• DBS check required; the cost of £12 will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month tremendously. entscheid. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for £49.
